The Opportunity:

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the school’s financial operations by managing transactional processes and ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transactional accounting processes and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial systems.
  • Handle physical cash collection, banking, and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Coordinate the purchase of goods and services, ensuring value for money.
  • Support staff with business travel and transport arrangements for school visits.
  • Manage supplier and budget account holder queries effectively.
  • Assist with payment reconciliations and invoice processing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • ICT literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • AAT or ACCA qualification, or currently studying towards one.
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for inter-academy travel.

Preferred

  • Experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Familiarity with educational sector financial processes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience with financial software and systems.
