Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of high-quality teaching and learning in English.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring outstanding outcomes in English Literature and English Language.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to implement strategies that raise standards and improve achievement.
  • Provide guidance and professional development for English teachers.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and educational standards.
  • Support the school’s vision of being outcomes-focused and child-centered.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to drive continuous improvement across the institution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stage 4.
  • A strong track record in securing excellent outcomes in English.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role within education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience with leading improvement initiatives in English education.
  • Familiarity with the Northern Education Trust (NET) structures and values.
