Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ literacy and oracy skills.

  • Support students’ personal and academic growth through individualised feedback and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide events that promote student well-being and achievement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to ensure all students reach their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic school or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with SEND or trauma-informed teaching approaches.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Experience with professional development and collaboration within a team.
