The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive improvements in academic standards and student achievement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through regular observations and feedback.
  • Manage and develop staff, providing professional development and support where needed.
  • Ensure consistency in school policies and procedures, promoting a culture of high expectations.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of school improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Headteacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including parents and the local community, to build strong relationships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within education, ideally at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated success in raising academic standards and improving student outcomes.
  • Strong classroom practice and a deep understanding of effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement across the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading departments or teams within a school setting.
  • Expertise in a subject area such as English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, or Languages.
  • Experience with curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
