The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an Assistant Principal for Inclusion & SEND to lead and champion inclusion across the institution. This role is ideal for a passionate and ambitious educator who wants to make a real impact on student outcomes and staff development. The Assistant Principal will play a key role in ensuring that inclusion drives whole-school standards and supports pupils with special educational needs to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the inclusion strategy across the school, ensuring it is embedded in all areas of practice.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to shape the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the school.
  • Support and develop staff in delivering high-quality inclusion practices and safeguarding procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve at the highest level.
  • Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Team to enhance curriculum and pedagogy for all students.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and equity across the school community.
  • Ensure that all policies and practices align with the school’s values of Excellence, Friendship, Courage, and Determination.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues in the area of special educational needs and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong track record in education.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing inclusion strategies within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
  • Commitment to the principles of inclusion, equity, and diversity.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school.
  • Experience with special educational needs and disability (SEND) support.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and best practice.
  • Experience in working with children and young people with a range of additional needs.
