The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant Principal Inclusion to lead and drive the school’s strategic approach to inclusion. This role will ensure that all students—regardless of background, ability, or need—thrive and make exceptional progress. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping an inclusive learning environment that supports every student’s potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the school’s inclusion strategy across all areas of the curriculum and pastoral care.
- Oversee the implementation of inclusive practices for students with SEND, EAL, and those facing barriers to learning or wellbeing.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure consistency and excellence in inclusion across the school.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of inclusion initiatives on student outcomes and progress.
- Support staff in developing the skills and knowledge needed to deliver inclusive teaching.
- Collaborate with external partners and agencies to enhance support for students and families.
- Ensure that inclusive practices are embedded in all school policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff on inclusion-related matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably within a school setting.
- Demonstrated success in raising attainment and achievement across a range of student groups.
- Strong understanding of inclusion, SEND, EAL, and pastoral care in an educational context.
- Experience in leading and managing a team of teachers and support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staff growth.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a large or multi-academy trust.
- Familiarity with the Aspirations Learning Institute’s CPD programmes.
- Experience in developing and delivering inclusion strategies at a school or trust level.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning approaches that support diverse learners.
- Experience in working with external agencies and community partners.
