The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs, EAL learners, and those facing barriers to learning, receive the support they need to thrive. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving excellence in inclusion across the school and sixth form.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop inclusive practices across the school, ensuring all students have access to high-quality learning and support.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to maintain and enhance the school’s standards of inclusion and student outcomes.
  • Support the development of staff through targeted training, coaching, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Implement and monitor policies that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for all students.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student wellbeing and progress.
  • Oversee the provision of support for students with special educational needs, including ARP and EAL students.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of inclusion initiatives on student achievement and staff development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in educational leadership, ideally in a school setting with a focus on inclusion.
  • Strong understanding of inclusion, special educational needs, and EAL support strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff, with a track record of successful professional development.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to meet enhanced DBS requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in a large, high-performing school or multi-academy trust.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and teaching strategies that support diverse learners.
  • Experience in leading inclusion initiatives or working with students who have complex needs.
  • Familiarity with Keeping Children Safe in Education and safeguarding policies.
