Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS5, including GCSE, A-level, and BTEC courses.
- Develop and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum that promotes student progress and achievement.
- Support the ongoing development of the Science department through collaboration with experienced colleagues.
- Monitor and assess student performance to ensure consistent progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and review of the Science curriculum.
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Mentor and support other members of the Science team where possible.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons and raise student achievement.
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS5.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
- Experience with curriculum development or leadership in a school setting.
- Familiarity with the Beacon Academy Trust and its values.
- Experience in teaching A-level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
