Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS5, including GCSE, A-level, and BTEC courses.
  • Develop and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum that promotes student progress and achievement.
  • Support the ongoing development of the Science department through collaboration with experienced colleagues.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure consistent progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and review of the Science curriculum.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Mentor and support other members of the Science team where possible.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding lessons and raise student achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS5.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Experience with curriculum development or leadership in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Beacon Academy Trust and its values.
  • Experience in teaching A-level Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
