The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the pastoral and personal development strategy to support student well-being and achievement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the school’s values and mission are embedded in all aspects of school life.
  • Manage and support a team of staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the implementation of leadership programs that inspire character development and social action.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of pastoral initiatives on student behavior, attendance, and academic outcomes.
  • Work closely with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the school’s community engagement and support networks.
  • Ensure that all pastoral policies and procedures are in line with the school’s values and legal requirements.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that fosters respect, resilience, and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience in managing a high-achieving faculty and leading successful pastoral programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding attainment and achievement in a school setting.
  • Strong commitment to the STAR values and the school’s mission.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Experience with leadership development programs and character education.
  • Experience working in a disadvantaged community or with diverse student populations.
