The Opportunity:

As a Director of Learning - Mathematics, you will lead the development of a high-quality maths curriculum that drives pupil success and fosters a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the mathematics department to ensure consistent, high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, identifying and implementing strategies to raise standards.
  • Support and mentor teachers to improve practice and achieve departmental and individual targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to shape school-wide strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire learners.
  • Ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with external partners and stakeholders to support student achievement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values leadership and character development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven ability to teach to GCSE standard.
  • Experience in leading a faculty and driving improvement in pupil outcomes.
  • Strong organisational, motivational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated success in raising attainment and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in leadership training or character development programmes.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance evaluation.
