The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Principal - PFA Lead and Deputy Senco, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing both campuses, ensuring students receive exceptional educational, therapeutic, and pastoral support. This role combines strategic SEND leadership, operational campus management, and Deputy Senco responsibilities, making it an impactful and dynamic position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal in the leadership and management of both campuses
  • Drive forward strategic priorities and the College Improvement Plan
  • Lead on inclusion, student engagement, and Preparation for Adulthood outcomes
  • Ensure policies and practices align with SEND legislation and the school ethos
  • Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and statutory responsibilities
  • Champion inclusive practice across curriculum and pastoral provision
  • Line manage and performance manage teaching and support staff
  • Support recruitment, induction, and professional development
  • Promote attendance, engagement, and belonging among students
  • Strengthen pathways into adulthood, independence, employment, and further education

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS/QTLS and SENCO qualification
  • Substantial leadership experience within a SEND setting
  • Expertise supporting learners with ASC and/or SLD
  • Highly organised, strategic, and solution-focused
  • Passionate about inclusive education and Preparation for Adulthood outcomes
  • Warm, resilient, and student-centred approach to leadership
  • Valid driving licence

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-site leadership and management
  • Background in developing and implementing College Improvement Plans
  • Experience with transition planning and statutory responsibilities
  • Experience in staff training and development in ASC, SLD, and wellbeing approaches
