Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing communication and language skills through engaging and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive and motivating learning environment for all students.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils and ensure that every student feels valued and supported.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of students in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with teaching staff and parents.
  • Support the school’s Catholic ethos and values through active involvement in school life.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE grade C or Level 2 equivalent in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience working with relevant age groups in a learning environment.
  • NVQ 2 in Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Training in relevant learning strategies such as Literacy.

Preferred

  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies for communication and language development.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Understanding of the Catholic ethos and values.
