The Opportunity:

As Deputy Principal and SENCO, you will lead the school’s strategic direction and oversee the delivery of inclusive education and SEND provision. This is a senior leadership role with a strong impact on student outcomes, staff development, and the growth of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across multiple campuses, supporting the Principal and senior leadership team to drive improvement and inclusion.
  • Lead on statutory SEND responsibilities, ensuring compliance with EHCP processes and inclusive practice.
  • Coordinate therapeutic support with the Clinical Team and maintain accurate SEN data and records.
  • Deliver staff training and support the development of teaching and support staff.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos and ensure policies align with legislation and best practice.
  • Line-manage assigned staff, including performance reviews and development planning.
  • Support cross-campus collaboration and the implementation of school-wide priorities.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and support for all learners, including those with complex needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QTS or QTLS and a recognised SENCo qualification.
  • Strong SEND leadership experience with knowledge of statutory duties and inclusive practice.
  • Confident, collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire staff.
  • Proven high-quality teaching practice and the ability to model excellent pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills with families, staff, and external agencies.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage complex needs and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driving licence.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-site educational setting.
  • Experience with therapeutic support and clinical teams.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff at senior levels.
  • Experience in curriculum development and inclusive education strategies.
