The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Safeguarding and Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting safeguarding and improving student attendance. This is a vital position that ensures students are safe, supported, and engaged in their education. You will work closely with families and external agencies to make a meaningful impact on young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support safeguarding processes and contribute to multi-agency work
  • Improve student attendance through data analysis, family engagement, and home visits
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records using CPOMS and ARBOR systems
  • Provide practical support to staff, students, and families
  • Engage in Early Help processes and collaborate with external agencies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of attendance improvement strategies
  • Support the Operational Safeguarding Lead in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and other stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in safeguarding and student attendance support
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Confidence in working with families and professionals
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to use CPOMS and ARBOR systems

Preferred

  • Experience in education or social care
  • Knowledge of Early Help processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Background in working within a school or multi-agency environment
