Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a coherent, high-quality Mathematics curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Lead and support a team of Mathematics teachers to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Use data effectively to monitor progress, identify gaps, and implement targeted interventions.
  • Foster strong relationships with primary schools to ensure a seamless transition and continuity in Mathematics education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support whole-school priorities such as numeracy and inclusion.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous professional development among staff.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to build positive partnerships and support student achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a middle or senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a commitment to raising standards in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery, with a focus on student progression and achievement.
  • Ability to use data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes for all students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading departmental improvement and staff development initiatives.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Experience in working with primary schools to develop cross-phase strategies.
  • Familiarity with national curriculum expectations and assessment frameworks.
