The Opportunity:
As an Assistant SENCO HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive setting. This role offers the chance to lead a Pathways Support Group and contribute to the development of effective SEN strategies across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate SEN provision across the school in collaboration with the SENCO.
- Support the identification and assessment of students with special educational needs.
- Provide guidance to teaching and support staff on inclusive education strategies.
- Liaise with parents and carers to update them on student progress and address concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEN provision.
- Assist in the development and delivery of staff training on SEN-related topics.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and encourages student participation.
- Support the improvement of attendance and engagement in Key Stage 3 through targeted interventions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in leading support groups or interventions.
- Knowledge of SEN policy and best practices.
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
- Familiarity with assessment and record-keeping systems.
