The Opportunity:

As a Site Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and functional school environment that supports student well-being and learning. This is a key position that ensures the school’s infrastructure and operations align with the Trust’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the school site, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and grounds
  • Supervise site staff and external contractors, ensuring high standards of work and compliance
  • Oversee security systems, including alarms, CCTV, and key management
  • Ensure all planned, preventative, and statutory maintenance is completed and documented
  • Conduct and oversee health and safety checks, including fire systems and emergency lighting
  • Manage estate records, compliance documentation, and health and safety systems
  • Support budget planning and monitoring, ensuring cost-effective use of resources
  • Coordinate site lettings, contractor performance, and service delivery

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience in a senior caretaking or site supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH
  • Experience working within a school or similar environment
  • Confidence in managing contractors and supervising staff
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise maintenance programmes
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety) or willingness to obtain them

Preferred

  • Experience of budget management and contract management
  • Experience in preparing costed maintenance plans
