The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Catering Assistant to join our team and help deliver a high-quality catering service. This role is essential in ensuring students and staff are well-fed and supported throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals in a timely and efficient manner
• Operate tills and assist with food preparation, including sandwich making
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and dining areas
• Provide excellent customer service to students and staff
• Support the implementation of Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations
• Assist with the setup and serving of meals during peak times
• Promote equal opportunities and inclusivity in the workplace

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in food preparation and service, preferably in a school or catering environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, team-based environment
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school catering setting
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations
• Experience with cash handling and till operations
• Flexibility to work term time only with INSET days
