The Opportunity:

As a Special Needs Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring a positive and safe lunchtime experience for students. This role involves supporting healthy eating, leading lunchtime activities, and fostering a welcoming environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in dining areas and other spaces to ensure a safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience.
  • Support students with feeding, changing, and making appropriate food choices.
  • Lead and participate in a variety of lunchtime clubs, such as sports, arts, and sensory activities.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to support student well-being.
  • Report serious incidents and accidents to senior staff promptly.
  • Provide first aid or emotional support to students with minor injuries or unwellness.
  • Ensure a calm and structured environment that promotes positive student behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain it.
  • Flexibility to work during lunchtimes and term time only.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or care setting.
  • Experience in organizing and leading group activities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
