The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring high attendance rates for students, supporting their academic success and future opportunities. This is a vital role in a school that values community, ambition, and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance records to ensure compliance with school and national standards.
  • Liaise with students, parents, and external agencies to address attendance issues and support families.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on attendance trends and interventions.
  • Implement and promote strategies to improve attendance across the academy.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and ensure all actions align with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to identify and address barriers to attendance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with school policies and data protection requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of attendance improvement initiatives and training programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in education, including KCSIE and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in a school or education setting, preferably with attendance management responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Good IT skills, including the use of school management systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school environment with a focus on student support and attendance improvement.
  • Knowledge of child development and the ability to engage effectively with students and families.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with the United Learning Trust or similar educational organisations.
