The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Improvement Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sustainable improvements in pupil attendance across the trust. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students and their families, while supporting schools to meet statutory requirements and improve educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and model best practice in attendance improvement across designated schools.
  • Provide targeted support to schools to reduce persistent and severe absence.
  • Analyse attendance data to identify trends and develop effective interventions.
  • Deliver training and guidance to school-based attendance teams.
  • Work with safeguarding teams and external agencies to support families and remove barriers to attendance.
  • Support schools with statutory processes including penalty notices and education supervision orders.
  • Promote the link between attendance, attainment, and wellbeing across the trust.
  • Adapt and implement trust-wide attendance policies to meet individual school needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong track record of improving attendance and reducing persistent and severe absence.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence to lead and influence school leaders and teams.
  • A child-centred, solution-focused approach with a strong understanding of statutory frameworks.
  • Flexibility to travel across trust schools and work remotely as required.
  • Full commitment to the vision and values of the organisation.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with safeguarding teams and external agencies.
  • Experience in delivering training and professional development.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
