The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and support them in becoming confident and successful learners. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with specific learning needs in a variety of settings, including classroom, small group, and one-to-one environments.
  • Act as a champion for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), advising staff on individual needs and how best to support them.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure quality-first teaching and additional support is effectively integrated.
  • Adapt quickly to new working environments and demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support and progress.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the school’s mission and values through consistent and compassionate care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a similar support role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and provide support in a variety of settings.
  • Good level of digital literacy.
  • Strong resilience, adaptability, and a positive, good-humoured attitude.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience in supporting students with a range of learning needs.
