Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students aged 11-16 in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative Science teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver shared curriculum content.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of Science departmental improvement plans.
  • Support the school’s commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Engage with the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme, including timetabled clubs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
  • Experience in teaching Science to 11-16 year olds.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with instructional coaching or CPD programmes.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student well-being initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
  • Experience in extra-curricular or club leadership.
