Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging maths lessons to KS3 students.
- Support the development of teaching and learning strategies across the department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the maths curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS and relevant teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.
- Experience of teaching KS3 maths.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience of leading or supporting a maths department.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with continuous professional development (CPD) and leadership in education.
