The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Manager, you will play a key role in improving student attendance and punctuality through the development and implementation of effective systems, interventions, and partnerships. This is a vital role in ensuring that every student is supported to fully engage in their education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead attendance systems and interventions to improve student punctuality and attendance rates
  • Develop and implement strategies to remove barriers to attendance and support student well-being
  • Build strong partnerships with students, families, and external agencies to promote consistent attendance
  • Monitor and report on attendance data to identify trends and inform targeted support
  • Work closely with pastoral teams to ensure all students receive the necessary support
  • Promote high expectations and a culture of responsibility and accountability
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on attendance-related issues
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures that support attendance and punctuality

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing attendance and student support systems
  • Strong understanding of barriers to attendance and strategies to overcome them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student support frameworks
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Understanding of social mobility and inclusion in education
  • Experience with the Embark Federation or similar multi-academy trust
