Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSEs and A Levels in English.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental resources and teaching strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to student progress and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students through innovative teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team and contributing to departmental planning.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 5.
  • Familiarity with A Level subjects such as Film Studies and Media Studies.
  • Experience in developing and sharing innovative teaching resources.
  • Experience in supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
