Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Support students in preparing for GCSEs and A Levels in English.
- Contribute to the development of departmental resources and teaching strategies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Commitment to student progress and a passion for teaching and learning.
- Ability to inspire and engage students through innovative teaching methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a team and contributing to departmental planning.
Preferred
- Experience teaching at Key Stage 5.
- Familiarity with A Level subjects such as Film Studies and Media Studies.
- Experience in developing and sharing innovative teaching resources.
- Experience in supporting student wellbeing and pastoral care.
