The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Mentor, you will play a key role in improving student attendance and engagement by working directly with pupils and families. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and support the school's mission of ensuring every pupil reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils to achieve and maintain attendance rates of at least 95%
- Re-engage disengaged pupils through mentoring, 1:1 sessions, and in-class support
- Promote pupil well-being and build positive relationships with families
- Collect pupils from home and accompany them to school
- Liaise with pupils, parents, and external professionals as needed
- Collaborate with staff across the school to support pupil welfare
- Contribute to the school’s Roman Catholic ethos and participate in its wider life
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in working with young people and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the school’s Roman Catholic ethos
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and parents
- Experience in addressing barriers to attendance and learning
Preferred
- Experience in mentoring or pastoral support roles
- Knowledge of educational welfare processes
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement practices
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £34,099 per annum
