The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students and families to improve attendance and engagement. This is a key position in ensuring that all students have consistent access to learning and can reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor student attendance data to identify trends and patterns.
- Work closely with families, pastoral staff, and external agencies to support students with attendance challenges.
- Develop and implement tailored interventions to address the root causes of non-attendance.
- Provide guidance and support to students to help them rebuild confidence and re-engage with their education.
- Communicate effectively with families to build strong, positive relationships.
- Ensure all actions are in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Use data intelligently to drive continuous improvement in attendance outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working with students and families in an educational setting.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to use data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
- High level of empathy and persistence in supporting students.
Preferred
- Experience in education or youth work.
- Knowledge of evidence-informed practice and its application in schools.
- Experience with attendance management systems or software.
- Previous experience in pastoral or student support roles.
