The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead a high-achieving department and inspire students to excel in mathematics up to GCSE and A Level. This role offers the chance to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to the continued success of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
- Support and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.
- Represent the department at school-wide meetings and events.
- Stay up to date with developments in mathematics education and incorporate best practices into teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in mathematics.
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at GCSE and A Level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or taking on senior responsibilities.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods.
- Familiarity with Jewish education or a willingness to learn about the school’s ethos.
- Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary on the Teachers Pay scale or Upper Pay scale, with TLR2b to TLR1b depending on experience.
