The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in improving pupil attendance through efficient systems and direct support to students and families. This is a vital position that supports the school’s mission to ensure every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of effective attendance systems and processes.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and carers to address attendance issues.
  • Monitor and report on attendance data to ensure targets are met.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to identify and address barriers to attendance.
  • Provide advice and guidance on attendance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legal and school attendance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to improve overall attendance rates.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a role involving student support or attendance management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably within an academy or school.
  • Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in schools.
  • Experience with data management or reporting systems.
  • Understanding of the Co-op values and ways of being.
