The Opportunity:

As an Automotive Lecturer, you will inspire and challenge students across Levels 1 to 3, helping them develop the practical and technical skills needed for success in the automotive industry. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, hands-on learning and supporting students in achieving their qualifications and future career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching that inspires and challenges students to achieve their full potential.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to explain complex concepts and support long-term understanding and application.
  • Take ownership of student outcomes, including attendance, achievement, and progression into apprenticeships or employment.
  • Provide opportunities for students to excel beyond the curriculum through competitions and external showcases.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources, schemes of work, and assessment plans.
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify student needs and plan inclusive, adaptive teaching.
  • Track and analyse student performance data, setting and reviewing SMART targets to support improvement.
  • Support student behaviour and wellbeing, providing timely and structured guidance when needed.
  • Build and maintain links with industry partners to enhance learning and keep the curriculum up to date.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant subject qualification at or above the level taught (e.g., Motor Vehicle Level 3).
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS) or commitment to obtaining one.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or commitment to obtain Level 2 Functional Skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching and training within the automotive sector.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with digital technologies in teaching.
  • Ability to support students with diverse needs, including those with SEND.
