Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching that inspires and challenges students to achieve their potential.
  • Design and implement inclusive, adaptive lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide teaching and support student progress.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources and schemes of work.
  • Track and analyse student performance data to support improvement and achievement.
  • Support students in developing positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
  • Build and maintain links with industry, employers, and the community to enhance learning and employability.
  • Contribute to the wider success of the department through administrative and curriculum development responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant subject qualification at or above the level taught.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS) or commitment to achieving one.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or a commitment to obtain Level 2 Functional Skills alongside the post.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering GCSE and Functional Skills provision.
  • Experience with teaching students with additional needs or those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with digital technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Ability to motivate and coach students effectively.
