The Opportunity:

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of engineering education. Using your industry experience, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons that help students develop the skills and confidence needed for successful careers in engineering and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching that inspires and challenges students across a range of engineering programmes.
  • Use practical applications and real-world projects to bring engineering science and mathematics to life.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes, including attendance, grades, and progression into university, employment, or advanced study.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date teaching resources and schemes of work aligned with industry needs.
  • Conduct effective assessments and use data to track student progress and set individual targets.
  • Provide clear, timely, and developmental feedback to guide student learning and achievement.
  • Foster positive student behaviour and wellbeing, offering structured support when needed.
  • Build and maintain links with industry, employers, and the local community to enhance learning and employability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant subject qualification at or above the level taught.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS) or commitment to achieving one.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or a commitment to obtain Level 2 Functional Skills alongside the post.

Preferred

  • Experience in engineering industry, particularly in areas such as Electronics, PCB design, and PLCs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver inclusive learning that supports all students, including those with SEND.
  • Experience in using digital technologies in teaching and learning.
