The Opportunity:

As a Creative Media Lecturer, you will inspire and engage students in Level 1 to Level 3 programmes, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for successful careers in the creative industries. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching that inspires and challenges students to achieve their potential.
  • Teach complex concepts using a range of methods, linking new and prior knowledge to support long-term understanding.
  • Take ownership of student outcomes, including attendance, achievement, and progression to university or competitive careers.
  • Provide opportunities for students to excel beyond the curriculum through external showcases and competitions.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality schemes of work, assessment plans, and teaching resources.
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify starting points and plan inclusive, adaptive teaching.
  • Track and analyse student performance data, setting and reviewing SMART targets for improvement.
  • Use formative and summative assessment effectively to guide students and refine teaching practice.
  • Support students in developing positive behaviour and wellbeing, providing structured support when expectations are not met.
  • Build and maintain industry and community links to enhance learning and employability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant subject qualification at or above the level taught.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS) or commitment to achieving one.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or a commitment to obtain Level 2 Functional Skills.

Preferred

  • Up-to-date subject and industry knowledge informed by current practice and employer requirements.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to design and deliver high-quality curriculum using effective pedagogy and digital technologies.
  • Experience in planning and delivering inclusive learning for disadvantaged and SEND students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas effectively.
  • Organised and efficient, with the ability to manage time and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Motivational and coaching skills to build student confidence and independence.
