The Opportunity:

As an Aviation and Travel Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of learners in one of the most exciting sectors. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of qualifications, from Level 1 to Level 6, while engaging with industry partners to ensure your teaching is relevant and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching across Aviation and Travel programmes from Level 1 to Level 6.
  • Support learners aged 16 and above to achieve strong pass rates and progress into employment, apprenticeships or higher education.
  • Act as a personal tutor, providing targeted support to improve attendance, motivation and progression.
  • Collaborate with external aviation partners and agencies to enrich learning and keep subject knowledge current.
  • Engage with employers to raise aspirations and create access to aviation and travel careers.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team across aviation, travel and business areas.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development to maintain industry-relevant teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 3 or above qualification in Aviation, Business, Travel, Tourism or a related subject area.
  • Experience in the aviation or travel sector, a teaching setting, or both.
  • Experience working collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • A professional, approachable manner and commitment to learner outcomes.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Teaching experience at any level.
  • Knowledge of current trends and changes within the aviation or travel sector.
  • Existing links with aviation partners, airlines, airports or industry agencies.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to manage data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
