The Opportunity:

As a Business and Travel Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and support to learners aged 16 and above. You will help students develop real-world skills in business and travel, preparing them for employment, apprenticeships, or higher education. This is a dynamic and varied role that offers opportunities for professional growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching across Business and Travel programmes from Level 1 to Level 6.
  • Support learners in achieving strong pass rates and progressing into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education.
  • Act as a personal tutor, providing pastoral support and improving attendance, retention, and motivation.
  • Engage with employers and external agencies to raise aspirations and open new career pathways for learners.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team and support the department's continued success.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and stay current with industry trends and changes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 3 or above qualification in Business, Travel, Tourism, or a related subject area.
  • Experience in the business or travel sector, a teaching setting, or both.
  • Experience working collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • A professional, approachable manner and commitment to learner outcomes.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Teaching experience at any level.
  • Knowledge of current trends and changes within the business or travel sector.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to manage data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
