The Opportunity:

As a Computing and IT Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of learners aged 16 and above. You will deliver high-quality IT education across a range of qualifications, from Level 1 to Level 6, while supporting learners in achieving their goals and progressing into employment or further study.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, innovative teaching across IT qualifications, using digital and ILT strategies to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Support diverse learners in achieving strong pass rates and progressing into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education.
  • Provide pastoral support as a personal tutor, improving attendance, motivation, and retention through targeted interventions.
  • Engage with employers to create pathways into IT careers and raise learner aspirations.
  • Collaborate with a forward-thinking team to maintain the department's strong performance and ensure the school remains employment-focused.
  • Commit to continuous professional development, staying current with industry trends and upskilling through partnerships with employers and external agencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 3 or above qualification in IT, computing, or a related subject area.
  • Experience in the IT sector or teaching environment.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent communication abilities (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively within teams.

Preferred

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one.
  • Experience teaching at any level.
  • Knowledge of current changes in the IT sector.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to manage data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
