The Opportunity:
As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across City and Guilds and T Level programmes, supporting learners in developing the skills and knowledge needed for skilled employment and apprenticeships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across City and Guilds and T Level Building Services programmes.
- Support learners in achieving their qualifications and progressing into employment or apprenticeships.
- Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of the Electrical Installation curriculum.
- Assess learner work according to City and Guilds criteria and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and industry standards, including BS 7671.
- Support learners academically and personally, promoting professionalism and employability skills.
- Use digital learning platforms and educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Develop teaching resources and curriculum materials to support learner success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, DET or equivalent)
- Recent and relevant industry experience as a qualified electrician
- Experience delivering Electrical Installation programmes up to Level 3 City and Guilds
- Experience supporting learners with varied needs and abilities
- Experience developing teaching resources and curriculum materials
- Experience using digital learning platforms and educational technology
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation theory, inspection, testing, and safe systems of work
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards, including BS 7671
- English and Maths at Level 2 or above
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding
Preferred
- NVQ Electrical Installation Level 3, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Inspection and Testing qualifications
- Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1)
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
- Experience contributing to quality assurance processes
- Experience working with employers or industry partners
- Experience delivering Functional Skills or English and Maths support alongside vocational delivery
