The Opportunity:

As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across City and Guilds and T Level programmes, supporting learners in developing the skills and knowledge needed for skilled employment and apprenticeships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across City and Guilds and T Level Building Services programmes.
  • Support learners in achieving their qualifications and progressing into employment or apprenticeships.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of the Electrical Installation curriculum.
  • Assess learner work according to City and Guilds criteria and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and industry standards, including BS 7671.
  • Support learners academically and personally, promoting professionalism and employability skills.
  • Use digital learning platforms and educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Develop teaching resources and curriculum materials to support learner success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (City and Guilds or equivalent)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, DET or equivalent)
  • Recent and relevant industry experience as a qualified electrician
  • Experience delivering Electrical Installation programmes up to Level 3 City and Guilds
  • Experience supporting learners with varied needs and abilities
  • Experience developing teaching resources and curriculum materials
  • Experience using digital learning platforms and educational technology
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation theory, inspection, testing, and safe systems of work
  • Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards, including BS 7671
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or above
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding

Preferred

  • NVQ Electrical Installation Level 3, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Inspection and Testing qualifications
  • Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1)
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
  • Experience contributing to quality assurance processes
  • Experience working with employers or industry partners
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills or English and Maths support alongside vocational delivery
