The Opportunity:

As a Behaviour Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable students and helping them overcome barriers to learning and success. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people through targeted interventions and collaboration with key school teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support vulnerable students through 1:1 and group interventions to improve behaviour and attendance.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention programmes to address individual needs.
  • Liaise with pastoral teams, senior leaders, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Attend and contribute to student review meetings and produce detailed reports and support plans.
  • Coordinate strategies with the Assistant Head (Head of Inclusion) and Intervention Co-ordinator to support students at risk of exclusion.
  • Provide guidance and support on safeguarding, child protection, and mental health issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, therapeutic, or support setting.
  • Background in behaviour management and intervention strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students and families.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and record-keeping abilities.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting at-risk students and understanding of teenage mental health.
  • Experience working within a school or academy trust environment.
  • Familiarity with statutory requirements related to attendance and behaviour.
