Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain science equipment, consumables, and laboratory resources to support teaching and learning
  • Assist with the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment and chemicals
  • Support science teachers in the planning and delivery of practical lessons
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in science laboratories
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and stock levels
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the science curriculum and student engagement
  • Assist in the organisation of science-related events and extracurricular activities
  • Provide technical support during science lessons and investigations

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in a science-related field
  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in a science laboratory
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Commitment to health and safety standards in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching assistants or classroom support roles
  • Familiarity with modern science equipment and laboratory techniques
  • Experience in curriculum development or support for science teaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
