The Opportunity:
Join a school’s Science Team as a Biology Lab Technician, providing essential technical support to ensure the smooth running of the Biology department. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for Science and a commitment to health and safety in laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain science apparatus for practical lessons and demonstrations.
- Manage stock levels, order resources, and ensure laboratory supplies are well-stocked.
- Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality practical science lessons.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all laboratory activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of practical experiments.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to students and staff.
- Collaborate with the Science department to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a school laboratory or science-related environment.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Preferred
- A background in Biology or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and practical science teaching.
- Knowledge of curriculum requirements for science education.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
