The Opportunity:

Join a school’s Science Team as a Biology Lab Technician, providing essential technical support to ensure the smooth running of the Biology department. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for Science and a commitment to health and safety in laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain science apparatus for practical lessons and demonstrations.
  • Manage stock levels, order resources, and ensure laboratory supplies are well-stocked.
  • Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality practical science lessons.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all laboratory activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of practical experiments.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to students and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Science department to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school laboratory or science-related environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Preferred

  • A background in Biology or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and practical science teaching.
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements for science education.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
