The Opportunity:
As a Senior Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting science education and ensuring the smooth operation of the science department. This role offers the chance to lead a team, manage laboratory resources, and contribute to a dynamic and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a small team of Science Technicians
- Ensure the efficient preparation and maintenance of science laboratories and resources
- Maintain and enforce health and safety standards within the science department
- Support science teachers in the delivery of practical lessons and experiments
- Develop and implement best practices for laboratory management and organization
- Collaborate with the science department to enhance the learning experience for students
- Assist in the procurement and storage of science equipment and materials
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and laboratory practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a science technician role, preferably within an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage and lead a small team effectively
- Experience with laboratory equipment and resources
Preferred
- Background or knowledge of Physics
- Experience in managing science facilities and resources
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and science curriculum developments
