The Opportunity:

A Biology Teacher is needed to join a successful and enthusiastic Science department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department known for its strong results and collaborative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Biology lessons that engage and challenge students at all levels.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and successful Science department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of Science education.
  • Support students in preparing for GCSE and A Level examinations.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Biology and Science education.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related science subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Biology at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for Science education.
  • Experience working in a team environment and contributing to departmental goals.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the department.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
  • Familiarity with National Curriculum requirements and assessment frameworks.
