The Opportunity:
A Biology Teacher is needed to join a successful and enthusiastic Science department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a department known for its strong results and collaborative spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Biology lessons that engage and challenge students at all levels.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a cohesive and successful Science department.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of Science education.
- Support students in preparing for GCSE and A Level examinations.
- Stay up to date with developments in Biology and Science education.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related science subject.
- Proven experience teaching Biology at both GCSE and A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for Science education.
- Experience working in a team environment and contributing to departmental goals.
Preferred
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in the classroom.
- Leadership experience or willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the department.
- Experience in pastoral care or student support.
- Familiarity with National Curriculum requirements and assessment frameworks.
