The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our high-achieving department. This role offers the chance to inspire students and contribute to a school with a proven track record of outstanding results. For the right candidate, there is also an opportunity to take on the role of Head of Year with a TLR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that engage and challenge students across all ability levels.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and innovative English curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized learning and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote a well-rounded education.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the department, including the opportunity to take on a senior role with a TLR.
  • Stay up to date with educational trends and best practices in teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or taking on a senior role such as Head of Year.
  • Familiarity with pastoral care and student wellbeing.
  • Experience with the use of educational technology in the classroom.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
