The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspiring English and Media Teacher to join a dynamic department and lead the Media Studies program. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English and Media lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
- Lead and manage the Media Department, ensuring it meets the school’s high standards.
- Support students in developing their skills in English and Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and A Level.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and improve student outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support where appropriate, particularly for those taking on the Head of Year role.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that promote the school’s values and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Media.
- Strong subject knowledge in English and Media Studies.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student progress and achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in pastoral leadership or Head of Year role.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with advanced educational technology.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
