The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring English and Media Teacher to join a dynamic department and lead the Media Studies program. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English and Media lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Lead and manage the Media Department, ensuring it meets the school’s high standards.
  • Support students in developing their skills in English and Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and A Level.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and improve student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support where appropriate, particularly for those taking on the Head of Year role.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that promote the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Media.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and Media Studies.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral leadership or Head of Year role.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with advanced educational technology.
