Head of Year (English and Media Teacher) role available in Outer London with TLR 2B.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Year with the ability to teach English and Media. This role offers the opportunity to lead a year group, support student progress, and contribute to a thriving pastoral team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group, ensuring the wellbeing and academic progress of all students.
  • Deliver high-quality English and Media lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Work closely with the Pastoral Team to support student behaviour, attendance, and personal development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and raise standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and colleagues as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, identifying areas for improvement and intervention.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and academic excellence across the school.
  • Contribute to the development of the English and Media curriculum and teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English and Media.
  • Strong pastoral and leadership skills with experience in managing a year group.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Head of Year or similar leadership role.
  • Background in a school with a strong pastoral and academic focus.
  • Experience with the use of educational technology in the classroom.
  • Knowledge of the school’s values and vision, including the motto “Ever to Excel.”
