Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Biology and Chemistry lessons up to A Level, using innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s bespoke Science curriculum.
  • Support student progress through effective assessment, feedback, and pastoral care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and staff development.
  • Encourage student engagement in science through co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school's outstanding academic record.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students, both academically and personally.
  • Stay up to date with scientific developments and incorporate them into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Biology and Chemistry up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in both Biology and Chemistry.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for science education.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
  • Experience in a school setting within the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST).
  • Willingness to pursue further qualifications if not already held.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
