The Opportunity:

A Biology Tutor is needed to inspire and educate students across A level, Applied Science, and GCSE courses. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student attainment and progression, while working within a supportive and innovative teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to A level, GCSE, and Applied Science students.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of science curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results, with a focus on progression to university and further study.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and work experience opportunities for students.
  • Collaborate with the Science department to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a committed team.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in Biology and science education.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Biology or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Biology at A level and GCSE.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Experience in delivering a range of science qualifications, including BTEC Applied Science.
  • Commitment to student progression and academic excellence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a sixth form or college setting.
  • Familiarity with digital education tools and online teaching platforms.
  • Experience in CPD delivery or leadership within a science department.
  • Background in research or curriculum development.
  • Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
