The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Physics Tutor to join a successful department that supports students in achieving top results and progressing to university and beyond. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level Physics and Applied Science lessons with a focus on student attainment and progress.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning strategies within the Science department.
- Support students through extra-curricular activities and work experience opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a range of Science courses, including AS and A Level Physics, Electronics, Biology, and Chemistry.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a dedicated team.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities offered by the school and Trust.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Physics at A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics and Applied Science.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Commitment to student progress and attainment.
- Experience in delivering both academic and vocational courses.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching in a sixth form college or similar setting.
- Familiarity with the Science Learning Partnership Hub or similar professional networks.
- Experience with digital education and use of technology in teaching.
- Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular science activities.
- Experience with research-based teaching methods or involvement in a Research School.
