The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Physics Tutor to join a successful department that supports students in achieving top results and progressing to university and beyond. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level Physics and Applied Science lessons with a focus on student attainment and progress.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning strategies within the Science department.
  • Support students through extra-curricular activities and work experience opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a range of Science courses, including AS and A Level Physics, Electronics, Biology, and Chemistry.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a dedicated team.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities offered by the school and Trust.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Physics at A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Physics and Applied Science.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to student progress and attainment.
  • Experience in delivering both academic and vocational courses.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in a sixth form college or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with the Science Learning Partnership Hub or similar professional networks.
  • Experience with digital education and use of technology in teaching.
  • Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular science activities.
  • Experience with research-based teaching methods or involvement in a Research School.
