The Opportunity:
A part-time Geography Tutor role is available to support the delivery of AS and A Level Geography courses. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or early career teachers seeking a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, student-centred Geography lessons aligned with the Edexcel specification.
- Provide meaningful and timely feedback to support student progress and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of a curriculum that addresses global challenges and prepares students for higher education.
- Collaborate with the Humanities team to ensure a cohesive and high-quality learning experience.
- Support students in developing independent research skills, particularly through the Extended Project Qualification.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the college's CPD programme.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and integrate innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
- Ability to deliver AS and A Level Geography courses following the Edexcel specification.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Experience working in a team environment and contributing to curriculum development.
Preferred
- Experience with the Extended Project Qualification.
- Background in research-based teaching methods.
- Familiarity with digital education tools and resources.
- Experience in pastoral support or student mentorship.
