The Opportunity:

A part-time Geography Tutor role is available to support the delivery of AS and A Level Geography courses. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or early career teachers seeking a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, student-centred Geography lessons aligned with the Edexcel specification.
  • Provide meaningful and timely feedback to support student progress and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development of a curriculum that addresses global challenges and prepares students for higher education.
  • Collaborate with the Humanities team to ensure a cohesive and high-quality learning experience.
  • Support students in developing independent research skills, particularly through the Extended Project Qualification.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the college's CPD programme.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Geography education and integrate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
  • Ability to deliver AS and A Level Geography courses following the Edexcel specification.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
  • Experience working in a team environment and contributing to curriculum development.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Extended Project Qualification.
  • Background in research-based teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with digital education tools and resources.
  • Experience in pastoral support or student mentorship.
